Shawn Spears Reenters WWE After Leaving AEW

A well-known face made a surprise appearance on “WWE NXT” on Tuesday night, but this time he went by a different moniker.

After leaving AEW at the end of 2023, Shawn Spears, once known as “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger, made a comeback on the program. When Ridge Holland was in the ring speaking to the crowd, Spears arrived after the words “Truth will ultimately prevail but there is pain bringing it to light” flashed on the television displays. He materialized behind Holland and gave him a chair beating before removing his hood to reveal who he was.

After a cordial breakup with the organization, Spears declared in December that his time with AEW was over. He hadn’t been on television since the Over Budget Charity Battle Royale, which took place before the All Out pre-show, before the announcement. But before his departure, Dave Meltzer claimed he had been playing one of The Devil’s disguised minions. In a statement, Spears expressed gratitude to AEW for his five years of development and stated that the decision was personal for him. After announcing that he and his wife Cassie Lee (the former Peyton Royce in the WWE) were expecting their second child, he took some time to think about life outside of the ring.
