Popular pop star Katy Perry declares her leaving the popular show American Idol after being a part of the show for seven seasons.

She said that Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie would know about the news when they saw the talk show. She announced the news on Jimmy Kimmel’s Live talk show.

Pop singer Katy Perry said on Monday that she will be departing from her position as a judge on American Idol after serving for seven seasons.

The pop star Katy revealed the shocking news while promoting the upcoming 22nd season of American Idol which airs on Sunday, on Jimmy Kimmel Live show. It’s the last season she was a part of.

In an interview, Jimmy Kimmel asked Katy Perry how long she intended to be a panelist. Perry said that she was performing at a Brazilian music festival in the fall. She said, I believe that this will likely be my final season and show on American Idol, she further replied, It has helped me feel a connection to the heart of America, but I think I need to go feel my own pulse.

There was some doubt or confusion Katy Perry had told other judges, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, She said the fellow judges would come to know about it when the show aired in a few hours.

Katy said she loved them so much and you didnot tell them, Jimmy Kimmel angrily said, over this, she said Exactly.

She said later that the two were aware of anything being amiss.

Katy Perry mentioned that, like the original panelists Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson, they will have been a trio on the ABC reboot of “Idol” for seven seasons. According to Deadline, that trio faced up against Kara DioGuardi, a fourth judge, in Season 8.
