The Rock aka Rock Johnson does a smackdown before WWE smackdown. The Promo is 21 minutes on social media featuring Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
A few plot holes about the main event of WrestleMania 40 were addressed in the promo. The Rock asserted that he called Rhodes following Rhodes’ victory in the Royal Rumble, offering him a chance to take professional wrestling to new heights by having The Rock vs. Roman Reigns as the main event of WrestleMania. The Rock predicted that this would be the greatest bout ever, and Rhodes could always wrap up his tale at a later date.
Know What Rock Said In The Promo Before WWE SmackDown?
Rock stated that Rhodes concurred that having The Rock vs. Reigns as the main event of WrestleMania 40 would be optimal for business, even though not getting to confront Reigns at WrestleMania 40 would hurt.
Everything went as planned, according to Rock, until Rhodes had a change of heart during the press conference for WrestleMania. Although Rhodes had the right to change his mind, Rock disagrees with Rhodes’ method of doing so. According to Rock, Rhodes withheld his decision from him until the press conference. Rhodes was forewarned by Rock that talking shit about The Rock’s family was a big mistake.
In the promo, The Rock addressed Rollins, expressing disapproval of Rollins’ remarks that WWE didn’t need The Rock. Rock forewarned Rollins that he may force Rollins to give up his World Heavyweight Championship to someone else because he is on the TKO Board of Directors.
The official matches at WrestleMania 40 are Reigns vs. Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship. For the first night of the two-night show, WWE also seems to be developing a tag bout between Rhodes & Rollins and The Rock & Reigns.
The Rock will make an appearance on SmackDown in the upcoming three episodes. Rock is scheduled to answer Rhodes’ challenge at Elimination Chamber tonight. In a singles match, Rhodes claimed that he wanted to play The Rock. Rollins assured Rhodes that he would always have his back, stating that there is no such thing as a one-on-one match against The Bloodline.
