Keanu Reeves, the beloved action star and face of the John Wick franchise, has once again addressed the burning question fans can’t stop asking: Will there be a John Wick 5? While promoting his latest project, Reeves shared an emotional yet humorous insight into his thoughts about returning as the relentless assassin.
“My heart wants it,” Reeves admitted during an interview. “I absolutely love playing John Wick. The character means a lot to me, and the support from fans has been incredible. But, you know, these knees… they’re not what they used to be.”
At 59, Keanu Reeves has performed jaw-dropping stunts throughout the John Wick series, often pushing himself to the physical limit. The actor has been candid about the toll these intense action sequences have taken on his body. “The training, the choreography, it’s all so demanding. I’m not 35 anymore,” he laughed.
Director Chad Stahelski has also expressed uncertainty about the future of the franchise, previously stating that both he and Reeves want to ensure any continuation lives up to the high standards set by the earlier films. “It can’t just be another sequel for the sake of it. If we do it, it has to be something special,” Stahelski emphasized.
Despite the challenges, Keanu’s love for the role shines through. “If the story is right and there’s a way to make it meaningful, I’m in. But I also have to listen to my body,” Reeves added.
For now, fans can only hope that both Reeves’ heart and knees align for one more chapter in the John Wick saga. Until then, the legendary hitman rests—hopefully, with a puppy by his side.
