In an exclusive interview, Sutton confessed she “completely lost it” while shooting a pivotal goodbye sequence for her character, young Misty. “We filmed it at 3 a.m., and I just started sobbing uncontrollably,” she shared. “The director had to pause because everyone on set was crying. It wasn’t just acting — it felt painfully real.”
But the tears didn’t stop there. Sutton revealed the scene doubled as a surprise tribute to Edwin Garcia, a lighting technician who worked on Season 1 before tragically passing away last year. Showrunner Jonathan Lisco secretly wove Edwin’s favorite song into the scene’s soundtrack and etched his initials onto Misty’s iconic heart necklace. “Edwin was family,” Sutton said, her voice cracking. “When I noticed those tiny ‘E.G.’ letters, I couldn’t breathe. It’s the most beautiful goodbye we could’ve given him.”
