UPSC Syllabus includes some important subjects.The latest syllabus for the UPSC exams 2022 divided into three heading. Mostly all the subjects are included in the syllabus which we have studied in school. UPSC Syllabus has three main part
Personality test or Interview.
Prelims UPSC Syllabus for 200 marks
It is designed in such a way that it make the best out from the candidate knowledge.Most of the question related is current affairs. This prelim is compulsory exams for UPSC to qualify for the exam. Candidate must clear with good marks to further appear in main exam. This prelim has two paper part 1 and part 2 2. Part 1 has question related to the General studies and other for General Studies (CSAT).
UPSC syllabus for Paper 1
The syllabus for Civil Service job Prelims has the following topics:
- All Current Events be National or International.
- Indian History related to National movement.
- Geography covers all Physical, Political,Social and Economic Geography of the World.
- Civics :Constitution of India,Political system all the topics covers in civics.
- Economical and Social Development.
- General question related to Environment, Climate change basically these questions which is nt comes under heading and didn’t need any specialization.
UPSC Syllabus for Paper 2
This paper is also called CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test) and it includes the topic as follows:
- Communication skills
- Problem solving quality
- Decision Making
- Mathematics related question (Graphs,chart, tables etc) covers class 10 level.
Syllabus for Main Examination Part 2
UPSC main Examination consist of total 9 papers and these all nine paper take 4 to 5 days to complete. Here 2 papers are include compulsory Indian Language and seven papers are merit oriented.
Paper 1 : covers Essay candidate has to write an essay on many topics.
Paper 2 : covers History and Geography of the world and also society focus also through on Indian Culture, Modern Indian History, Middle history. Freedom Struggle for Independence, First war of Independence, World History, colonization, decolonization,capitalism, socialism etc. Role of women and Woman Organisation, Effects and globalization , Industrialization,Silent features of world History and Geography.
Paper 3 : Paper 3 consist of general studies related to social and International relations.Indian constitution amendments and key features of it. Union and State governments responsibilities and challenges, Power and finance.
Distribution of powers, redressal and grievances, mechanisms and institutions. Other countries constitution and their comparison to Indian Constitution. Parliament and State Legislature. Department of Government and Ministers and role in policy making. Feature of Representation of People’s Act.
Power and Responsibility of various Government post and their appointment. International agency and their development functions. agencies and powers. India with relation with others country agreement and planning and programming. Welfare scheme of the country.
Paper 4 : Technology,Management and Environment and Economic Development. All the heading comes under paper 4.
Paper 5 : under paper 5 General awareness, aptitude test.The paper meant to test the candidate aptitude and attitude and question related to the integrity and problem solving quality.
Paper 6 : This paper is Optional paper and this is also contains 250 marks.
Paper 7 : This is also an optional subject paper 3 contains 250 marks.
UPSC Syllabus for Interview or Personaliy Development for 275 marks
Those candidate who successfully clear the two phase has been selected for the Interview and are celled for the Personality Development and Interview. Here candidate are questioned and Interviewed and candidate detail Application form are with them who them.
